[SM-USERS] system locale

Benedict Simon dcunha
Hi Thomas,

Thanks a million

it worked like a  charm

but i wanna clear my doubts

1) as u said i need to create a

a)  'ar' system locale with windows 1256 character set

b) run the command---- localedef ar -i ar_KW -f CP1256

c) restart apache

d) select Arabic translation in squirrelmail display preferences.

now i followed the steps from b to d and it worked like a  charm

now i really dont know about a).. that is how to create the 'ar' system
locale and if it was already created or existed which file or directory do
i need to check.

thanks and really appreciate

it is same step. First step is 'create system locale'. Second step is
'restart apache'. On linux system locales are created with localedef
command.

See 'man localedef'
